Office Administrator / Business Development Manager

Keep our office running and help grow the business. Simply Automated is looking for an organised, outgoing all-rounder to own the front office and drive new work for our smart home and security team in the Illawarra.

$70,000 - $110,000 (Negotiable depending on experience)

About Simply Automated

Simply Automated designs and installs smart home automation and home security systems across Wollongong, Shellharbour, Kiama and the Southern Highlands in high end residential properties along with a mix of general electrician and high-rise construction.

The Role

Office administration

  • Be the first point of contact for phone, email and website enquiries
  • Book site visits and installations, and manage technicians' schedules
  • Prepare quotes, raise invoices and follow up on payments
  • Order stock and keep supplier records up to date
  • Manage NDIS paperwork, including service agreements, quotes for plan managers and claims
  • Keep the CRM, job management system and filing tidy and current

Business development

  • Follow up on leads and quotes, and turn enquiries into booked jobs
  • Build relationships with builders, electricians, architects, real estate agents and strata managers
  • Look after existing customers and spot upgrade and maintenance opportunities
  • Help run our social media, website updates, email campaigns and local events
  • Track the sales pipeline and report on results to the owners

About you

You'll need

  • 2+ years in office administration, sales support or business development
  • Confidence on the phone and in person, and a genuine knack for building relationships
  • Strong organisation: you can juggle schedules, quotes and follow-ups without things slipping
  • Clear, professional writing for emails, quotes and proposals
  • Good computer skills, including Microsoft 365 or Google Workspace and accounting software such as Xero

Bonus points for

  • Experience in the electrical, security, building or technology trades
  • Knowledge of the NDIS and how assistive technology funding works
  • A network in the Illawarra building or allied health community
  • An interest in smart home technology

You'll need to complete a National Police Check and an NDIS Worker Screening Check.
